Kick-off workshop for the project Higher education partnership for renewable energy sector (Hi-Nepal)

The Institute for Natural Resources Technology and Management (ITT), TH Köln (Cologne University of Applied Sciences), Germany, in collaboration with the Center for Energy Studies (CES), Institute of Engineering (IOE), Tribhuvan University (TU), Nepal, is jointly implementing the project “Higher Education Partnership for Renewable Energy Sector: Sustainable Development of Energy and Economy in Nepal (Hi-Nepal)” with the support of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The project, running from February 2025 to December 2028, is designed to strengthen academic programs and research capacities in both institutions, with a particular focus on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4, SDG 7, and SDG 9).

The initiative aims to enhance quality education for students, lecturers, and early-career researchers in the field of renewable energy, thereby contributing to economic growth, innovation, and the development of energy technologies, resources, and infrastructure.

In this context, the Kick-off Workshop for the Hi-Nepal Project is being organized from 28–30 August 2025 at CES, Pulchowk, Lalitpur. The workshop will concentrate on assessing needs and strengthening academic programs and research activities to better support Nepal’s sustainable energy and economic development.
